The series is based in the world of Alterth where humans who turn into beasts  and other creatures are referred to as Alternians (aka "Alters"). Alterth is a world crossed between sword and sorcery, providing the series with a dark and barbaric atmosphere that pulls no punches in its highly detailed story line as well as its artwork, which has strong influences from the metal scene.

At the center of the series is Hakkor, a character who cares only to do what is right, even if he must sacrifice his own life in the process. He has a sorcerer's glove to help him his quest, and though he doesn't know how to use it, it transforms, and shape-shifts to meet his needs along the way.

As a rare breed of Alter known as a blood orc. Hakkor's source of strength is blood. When Hakkor's body absorbs the blood of others, it is given power. But there is also a catch: the blood he absorbs transfers the character of the person it has been shed from. If an evil person's blood spills on him, then Hakkor's character will become the equivalent of that evil.

Since Alterth is a world where all of the ugliness and evil has overpowered what was left of the good, it does not require the typical hero to make things right. To fight evil, one must become evil. To fight monsters, one must become a monster. 

The world doesn't need a hero, It needs a monster. Prepare to see what happens when a good  man bleeds.
